If you were wondering how I got my perfect dog, Foxxy… keep reading!

Sooo many of you know that I love my dog. It’s natural, right? Right! If you don’t follow me on Snapchat and you want to see A LOT of cute pictures and videos of her then you should follow me @heidilim đŸ¶.

So why do I like to stay home most nights (when I’m not slaving at work or attending classes or trying to do something productive with my life), is because I moved to Orlando in September 2015 with Foxxy when she was an itty bitty puppy. She was born on June 13, 2015. She is sent from Heaven to be my pup and I’m her human on Earth.

Let me start the story of how I ended up with a perfect dog fit just for me (yes, January, she is meant just for me because I’m special like that).

I was living with my mom in MS while going to college at Belhaven University right before transferring to Full Sail University. My mom has a Maltipoo who is an awesome dog. So I decided that I wanted one of my own that I can take with me wherever I go. Since my mom already had a dog and knew how much responsibility it took to raise a dog she told me no. I was not happy about that so I went to the public library the next day to do homework and decided to look on a local Facebook Buy/Sell/Trade Group to see if anyone was giving away dogs for free because I had zero money to spend (college student). At this point, I didn’t care what kind of dog I got, I just wanted a dog, and even more so that my mom told me no (I’m stubborn just like her, I love you, Mom). So I found someone giving away Bassador puppies for free. I had no idea what a Bassador was but later found out it’s a Basset Hound and Lab mix.

I was so happy and excited that I found a free puppy that I asked this lady if I could meet her as soon as possible. Next thing I know, I’m on my way to get this puppy. When I got there she had a lot of puppies left and they were all sooo cute. As bad as this sounds, I didn’t want any of them… except for the one puppy her son was holding to keep. That was the one I wanted and that one is now, Foxxy Flower Lim. I immediately fell in love with her and was so excited to have a precious little thing in my life that I could love unconditionally and raise as my own.

I knew my mom was going to be mad when I went home but I didn’t care. I was on my way home as I was holding this 6 week old perfection in my arm while driving. Next thing I know, this 6 week old perfection peed all over the front of my shirt. So I was soaked in puppy pee and couldn’t do anything about because I was driving.

I got home and before I walked in the door I hid the puppy from my mom’s vision so she couldn’t see it and told her to not be mad at what I got. She immediately knew I got a puppy after she specifically told me not to and was not happy about it to say the least. I showed her the puppy and her face turned from mad to an “aww is that a basset hound?” expression. She fell in love. [I just texting my mom to see if this was an accurate description of how she first fell in love with Foxxy, but she didn’t text back (lol even my mom doesn’t text me back #nofriends) SO I’m keeping it because it’s accurate from my point of view..]

From that moment on, I took on the responsibility of a new-born child who turned into a toddler who is almost 2 years old and still acts like a toddler. But I couldn’t be more happy about it. She is my mini me and I love it. She has my personality and she loves me just like I love her. We have an unconditional love for each other that I can’t explain in words. You’ll just have to see if for yourself. If you haven’t figure out how much I love her, you will after I tell you that I’m on my FOURTH Macbook Charger ($80 each) because she has chewed three up. I still don’t understand why because I counted how many toys she has the other day and ended up with 10 toys available for her chewing pleasure.

And to answer your question… No she is not at the local shelter, she’s still alive, with me.

But to prevent this post for going on for days about her, I’ll just end it with…. Thanks for reading!
